Artist profile

Nidhogg is a performer, vocalist, and lyricist who in 2019, together with guitarist and producer Louve, founded the black metal band Wilczyca. In 2020, the group released their debut album titled Wilczyca under the label Godz Ov War Productions. The record was enthusiastically received among fans of raw, old-school black metal in the spirit of Burzum.

A few months later, their second album – Horda – was released, even more radical and uncompromising in its sound. It gained even greater recognition among devoted fans, though it remained completely misunderstood by the broader public. Nidhogg described Horda as his favorite album – a document of madness, stays in psychiatric hospitals, and total amnesia from the recording period. The cover of the album features a disturbing photo taken by Nidhogg’s wife inside a psychiatric ward, showing her silhouette standing before a window barred with a chain and padlock.

The third Wilczyca album is the band’s most furious and aggressive work – strongly inspired by punk, while also containing some of their catchiest compositions. The most recognizable track from this period is Jeszcze zemści się ziemia (The Earth Will Avenge Yet) – recorded with the guest participation of the legendary Roman Kostrzewski. At every concert, Nidhogg pays tribute to his late friend, dedicating both his performances and subsequent releases to him.

The fourth and final Wilczyca album marked a turn toward more melodic and atmospheric sounds. Although it was well received artistically, its promotion was insufficient, leaving it an underground hidden gem. After this release, Nidhogg ended his collaboration with the band. In the following years, Wilczyca’s albums were reissued on cassette in the USA, Russia, and Canada, each selling out completely.

Solo Career

Over a year after leaving Wilczyca, Nidhogg began his solo career. Under the name Nidhogg & Wilczyca, he performed a series of concerts across Poland, presenting material from all stages of the band’s work.

In early 2024, he organized a unique event – a concert with a full symphony orchestra of nearly 40 musicians. This was a symbolic and ceremonial closure of the Wilczyca chapter — a one-of-a-kind performance paying homage to the entire history of the band.

In April 2025, Nidhogg embarked on a European tour as the special guest of the band PATRIARKH, presenting original material from his upcoming album Nidhogg – Narcissus. The record will be released under Askgard Records – an independent label founded by Nidhogg, who now works as a fully independent, self-made artist with complete control over his craft.

Although fans eagerly await this new era, many still hope to once again hear the cult classic Jeszcze zemści się ziemia live, with the unforgettable contribution of Roman Kostrzewski.

Private Life

Offstage, Nidhogg is both an artist and an entrepreneur. Together with his wife – who is his life and business partner, as well as his co-manager, keyboardist, and makeup artist – he runs his own business and develops original artistic and publishing projects.

Both are deeply connected to nature and have long been engaged in animal welfare work. They share their home with three dogs and seven rats, and they also care for a bear who is spending his twilight years peacefully in a friendly sanctuary.

All of these animals had previously suffered cruel treatment at the hands of humans — only under the care of Nidhogg and his wife have they found shelter, peace, and love.

The artists openly emphasize that they value the company of animals more than that of people and feel much more at home in nature than in the bustle of cities. For this reason, they live in a wooden house in the forest — just as befits a true black metaller.
